Family, Friends, and Colleagues -
In 2007 I started working for Optum, a Health Services company, which is part of the UnitedHealth Group (UHG) enterprise. I have been a proud and avid supporter of our sister company's charitable organization UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation (UHCCF) since the start.
This amazing charitable organization provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related service not covered, or not fully covered, by their family’s commercial health insurance plan. Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child ($10,000 lifetime maximum per child), and do not need to have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible.
UHCCF was founded in 1999. Since 2007 the year I started, UHCCF has awarded 18,000 grants valued at $41M to children and their families across the United States. UHCCF’s funding is provided by contributions from individuals, corporations and UnitedHealth Group employees.
I have made a donation from each paycheck since 2007 and participate in at least one or more fundraising events each year. This year I selected Steppin Up for Kids because it inspires us to also live healthier lives and it truly embraces our company's mission!
Our mission is to help people live healthier lives and to help make the health system work better for everyone.
I hope you will join me in supporting this important foundation which helps so many families who may not otherwise get the help they need or are overburdened with the cost of providing for their child.
