I have been cast in a holiday revue called "The Kids for a Cause Holiday Troupe." It is produced by a non-profit organization called The Random Farms Kids’ Theater. We have just four rehearsals to learn a winter- and holiday-themed show filled with singing and dancing, and then we go out into the community to spread some cheer throughout Central Westchester.
The Holiday Troupe travels around to different nursing homes, children's hospitals, and homeless shelters (anywhere we can share a smile!) to give them a fun holiday show free of charge. We work together to bring the show to people who may otherwise not get to see a live production this holiday season.
On Friday, we performed for senior citizens at The Bristol, in White Plains. All of the people who came to watch us were very excited and sang along to all of the holiday songs. We spent 10 minutes talking with many lovely people and they all had smiles on their faces. It feels so good to make other people so happy! I am very excited for our 2nd and 3rd performance this week.
Since there is no fee for the organizations where we perform, the other cast members and I are fundraising to help cover the production costs for this program. I hope you will help me in this fundraiser so that Random Farms can continue to run a program that is not only fun for me to participate in, but also makes a big difference in our community.
