As you may or may not be aware, November 1st was to be my first ever full marathon until it was cancelled a few months back. Well to celebrate marathon day, I am going to be running a ‘virtual’ half-marathon (which is simply a euphemism for ‘I’m running a half marathon around NYC by myself); this will be my 3rd ever. With that I have set up a go-fund me team for the Robin Hood COVID relief fund. If you have the money to spare, I ask that you please join me in supporting this worthy cause.
Here's info on the Robin Hood COVID Relief fund:
The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the greatest challenges New York has faced. But while this crisis is tough, New York is tougher. To rise together, we must work together.
Our mission: to inspire 1,000,000 New Yorkers to give $10 each to help their neighbors in need.
Join other big-hearted New Yorkers in rallying funds for those hit hardest by COVID-19: the 1.8 million New Yorkers already living in poverty, and the many others who, overnight, found themselves on the brink of it.
Robin Hood will direct 100% of the funds you raise to the poorest New Yorkers’ most urgent needs: food, shelter, cash assistance, health and mental health, legal services, education and more. Together, we can make sure the New York we return to is once again the strong, resilient city that lifts up ALL its citizens.
