Help me raise money for Project Lifting Sprits, a wonderful organization right here in the CSRA. Project Lifting Spirits' mission is to provide ongoing support and gifts of encouragement to our brave service members, veterans, and their families both home and abroad.
From Project Lifting Spirits...
"Project Lifting Spirits works with various Fort Gordon entities and the Veterans Affairs Hospitals in Augusta, Georgia to provide items of appreciation to our veterans, deployed troops, and the wounded service members stationed here. Our goal is to provide these service men/women with various items of appreciation for all of their hard work and sacrifices in order to provide us with the safety and security that we all take for granted. Currently, we are doing bingo nights and ice cream socials on a monthly basis at the VA Hospital Uptown Division and are looking at what we will be able to do for the VA Hospital Downtown Division. Additionally, as funds allow we purchase and provide hygiene items that are needed to the VA Hospitals. On Fort Gordon, we have been providing cards and meals (i.e. pizza parties) to them as funds allow. Lastly, we provide snacks, cards, candy, and other reminders from home to deployed service members."
I will be running for 24 hours beginning at 7 a.m. New Year's Eve day (Happy 27th Birthday to me!) and ending at 7 a.m. New Year's Day.
What better way to support an incredible local organization that does SO MUCH to help those who have served and who continue to serve!
My goal is to get to 100 miles in this 24 hour time period. Go big or go home, am I right? You are welcome to go old-school with it and pledge a certain amount per mile, donating once I have finished to give me some extra motivation but any donation, no matter the amount, is a huge help and deeply appreciated!
