Following State recommendations, The Kennett Flash will not be hosting performances for the foreseeable future. Postponing, rescheduling, and canceling performances comes at a large cost as it is at the core of what we do. Without the ability to present events The Flash is unable to cover unavoidable expenses, including, but not limited to employee payroll and rent. Income directly associated with performances covers over 70% of all expenses for The Flash. This inability to cover expenses threatens the future of The Kennett Flash, a non-profit listening room that has thrived in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania since 2009 hosting performances by everyone from Jerry Douglas and Bettye LaVette to Billy Penn Burger and The Sin City Band. Opportunities given to younger performers and music students through series like our bi-monthly Open Mic, our New Summer Sounds Series, and our Master Class Series will also disappear without support now. It is very possible without support now The Flash will be forced to close forever. Please help us keep that from happening. Please help us keep the stage lights on until the doors open for the next show.
In a healthy situation donations would cover 50% of all we do. We need them to cover 100% of what we do for the foreseeable future - so The Flash can be guaranteed not to disappear. Please consider a donation at this time to help The Flash get through this unprecedented interruption in programming and we will return soon to bring you all the music that you love and more. Thank you for your help. Stay safe and wash your hands.
