As a result of the American Cancer Society’s efforts, more people are surviving their cancer diagnosis. I know…. because I am one of them. I fought breast cancer in 2011, and again in 2014. I took advantage of the American Cancer Society’s programs for advice, research, and learning how to “Look Good and Feel Better” while I was undergoing chemotherapy.
Only later, when I became a volunteer to help raise money for the American Cancer Society, did I learn that one of the primary treatment drugs for my type of cancer (Herceptin), was developed by researchers with a grant from the American Cancer Society. Research is vital to fighting cancer, and this fundraiser is aimed at ensuring that life saving research will Give Tomorrow Today.
