All of us know someone who has been on a cancer journey and a support system that helped them along the way. Many people have a Canine Caregiver as part of their support system and that is why we are having the 3rd annual Bark For Life of Johnson County on Sunday, October 28th at Big Grove Brewery & Taproom in Iowa City from 2:00-4:00pm. Registration includes a human t-shirt, dog bandana, frisbee, and a homemade dog treat from Woofables dog bakery!
The day will be full of events including a trivia competition, corn hole competition, best dog trick competition, best dressed competition, silent auctions, therapy dogs, a dog obstacle course, and ceremonies and laps.
The Bark For Life honors the life-long contribution of Canine Caregivers while people are on a caner journey. All types of champion dogs contribute to the fight against cancer Canine Caregivers, Canine Companions, Guide Dogs, Service Dogs, Rescue Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Police Dogs, Cancer Survivor Dogs, and Diagnostic Dogs. These 4-legged friends and their owners are joining the American Cancer Society to CELEBRATE cancer survivorship, REMEMBER people lost to cancer, and BARK BACK by fundraising to support cancer research, education awareness, advocacy, and patient support services.
