The Gallery, Etc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with an art gallery in Tucumcari, New Mexico, just off the Historic Route 66! We have a unique mission: Got Art? with a vision to provide a forum for visual artists to publicly display their works of art and a venue for visual and performing artists to obtain instruction to pursue, enhance and stimulate their artistic abilities, thereby creating opportunities for citizens of our rural communities to experience the arts.
Our website is: http://artspacetuc.com/
Our Facebook page, where you will find a lot of pictures and videos of what we are about is: https://www.facebook.com/thegalleryetctucumcari/
We are more than an art gallery. We are a community gathering place, offering free art classes to children and low cost art classes to adults! We have open mic nights for the community as well as other art related events. We celebrate local and regional artists who can display their art for a small annual membership fee of $35 (discounts for students and seniors). We sell their art and retain a small percentage of the sale to offset operating costs. Many of our artists are seniors and this provides them with an opportunity to supplement their income.
Coronaviris Pandemic Hardship. Our gallery has been hit hard by the recent Coronavirus pandemic forcing us to close our doors for the foreseeable future. Without our normal income, our funds are running out. Our organization is totally volunteer based. Therefore, we do not qualify for the COVID-19 funding options through the Small Business Administration.
Please consider a donation to help us meet our operating costs (i.e. rent and utilities), until we can reopen, so that we don't lose our beautiful gallery space and venue for art classes and events. Unless we can find support through kind people like you, we will be forced to close our gallery and our venue starting June 15, 2020. Your donation will help keep art alive in our rural community.
About Tucumcari, New Mexico: Tucumcari is an historic city of about 5,000 residents. Small business is the backbone of our community. We are located in rural Quay County, along Interstate 40 amongst the beautiful red mesalands, about 120 miles west of Amarillo, Texas. Our country is inspiration for beautiful art, yet we do not have economic resources as others do in larger communities.
