We are excited to announce that we have an anonymous donor who is going to match our donations as a group! Let's get going on this- please spread the word!
“Why does Upstage Arts matter?” Is it the friends made? Is it about being a part of something bigger than yourself? Is it a place where you "fit in"? Is it where your talents are appreciated, and you can excel? Upstage Arts has been an important part of so many young actors’ lives. We want to ensure that future students have the same opportunity to learn and grow for years to come.
Everyone understands the realities that small businesses are facing due to the Covid- 19 outbreak. Upstage Arts is no exception. At the moment we had to close our doors because of social distancing, we were in production for two shows, Drowsy Chaperone and Firebringer. We were anticipating that these shows would have had $3000 each in ticket sales but as of now, both shows are waiting to be rescheduled. In addition, 10 students were participating in our upcoming show, Press Start, which would have been $4000 in tuition revenue. This show had to be canceled.
The Upstage Arts business model has always been to continuously produce shows in an ebb and flow of tuition, production expenses, and ticket sales. Covid- 19 has effectively cut off our revenue sources.
We are reaching out to our community of performers and supporters to help off-set our revenue losses through a GOFUNDME drive. We are working to raise an initial $3000.
If you love us or have loved us in the past, we encourage you to donate and share this post. Any amount will help build momentum and help us reach others.
