This year Katie has been able to make several friends who also have spina bifida. We even attended a holiday party sponsored by the Spina Bifida Association. This has been a great way to help Katie see she is not the only kid who wear’s braces or walks with the support of crutches, which has been important since she has begun wondering why she is different from most of the other kids she meets. She is so passionate about life and friends that it has become very important she has a place where she feels perfectly accepted as she is. The Spina Bifida Association gives us this opportunity - it connects us to families going through similar medical procedures, challenges, and worries about tomorrow. With their support we don’t feel alone. Please help us continue to support this growing organization through a donation or joining us at the Walk-n-Roll. We would love to see you all!
May 5th - walk will probably start around 9am inside Wash Park near the new playground (diagonal parking lot). We’ll all be in purple! The event is free and is a quick walk around the park to celebrate all of the progress Katie’s made this year with her mobility.
