Thanks to John Hancock's invitational program, and a good friend, I was able to receive a Bib number for the 2020 Boston Marathon. It has been 10 years since I ran the Boston Marathon, and thought I would take on the challange again and raise some funds for a worthy cause.
In 2010 I ran for a Cancer Charity, this year while researching the many and well worthy charities, I decided to focus on a charity that helps Children around the world and in particular I wanted to help children in Lebanon, my original homeland. To that end, I landed on "Help Save Children in Lebanon - Save the Children".
As violence consumed Syria, desperate families fled their homes, many ending up in Lebanon. Now, one in four people in Lebanon is a Syrian refugee. Before the Syrian crisis, poverty in Lebanon was already widespread. Many Lebanese children had little access to health care and basic services. Now the strain on the country’s limited resources is putting both Lebanese and refugee children in peril.
What we go through every day does not come close to the pain and suffering these children endure every day of their lives. I ask you to contribute what you can to help this charity, your contribution will make a difference.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
God Bless you.
