On September 22, 2019 I will be participating in a charity powerlifting meet. Help me reach my goal raising $1.00 for every pound I hope to lift in my upcoming meet! I am hoping to raise 475 dollars/pounds!
Dead: 225; Bench: 125; Squat: 125
All proceeds will go to support the great work of BAGLY. I am just learning about this organization, so ask me questions and I'll find out answers--but I am fully behind what they are trying to do for LGBTQ youth--which evokes my deadlift mantra: "Rise up. Stand Proud. Take Up Space!"
Come see me lift: Acheive Fitness, 42 Merriam St, Somerville, MA 02143

More about me:
A lifelong athlete, I only started lifting, at age 42, as part of a recovery plan from back injury. The last 7 years, I have fallen in love with the activity and have had fun challenging myself with the "Big 3 Lifts." Especially deadlifts.
I LOVE DEADLIFTS. I have since the day I first did one. I like the feeling of lifting somthing heavy off the floor in a single smooth motion! Jen Sinkler describes deadlifts as such: "It's rising up. Standing proud. Taking up space." YEP it sure is and in that space I discovered a confidence I rarely had in my other athletic endeavors.
Today, at 49 (and a half!), I dedicate my love of lifting to Stacey Schaedler, with whom I started the lifting journey 7 years ago this September. She gave me the tools and knowledge to help me feel comfortable moving after injury and to stay healthy and strong for a lifetime!
None of my goals for this meet are PRs. My training has been a bit off this summer as I recovered from a minor injury, but I think this goal and these lifts are doable. I have a stretch goal of 500 total pounds--so we'll see how this last month of training goes!
P.S. If you want to connect with Stacey, she is taking new clients--in person and online! :)
