In December of 2016, Kyle's mom Karen (Kare Bear) Volpe was diagnosed w leukemia. In the following weeks, seven of us spent Christmas, New Years and Kyle's birthday in a 10x12 foot room at the University of Colorado Hospital, unsure if Karen would ever step outside again.
She did. In fact, she kicked cancer's ass.
Karen powered through two rounds of chemo and a BMT like a boss. With support of her family and a bone marrow loan from her brother Mark, Kare Bear was released weeks earlier than expected is back to living her best life.
But as you know, not every family is that lucky so we'd like to share some of our good fortune with others. Skip the gift and consider making a donation to LLS to help fund research and other programs that offer relief to families like ours.
