To celebrate Kappa Alpha Theta's Annual Day of Service on October 19th, we will be partnering with Food Lifeline and supporting their canned food drive. Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington by providing nutritious food to hundreds of thousands of people facing hunger every year by sourcing nutritious food from a variety of food industry partners. The food is distributed through a partnership with 300 food banks, shelters, and meal programs, enabling their organization to provide the equivalent of 134,000 meals every single day.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, WA state saw the need for food assistance double from about 850,000 people in a typical month to 1.6 million people as a result of the economic hardship caused by the pandemic. And this number is forecasted to grow with the number of food-insecure people reaching more than 2 million people before the crisis begins to subside.
Join us to help get nutritious food into the communities that need it most, helping to relieve some of the financial burden and stress faced by many families due to the economic hardship brought on by COVID-19.
$1 donation = 5 meals
