Hi friends! I will be participating in my first powerlifting meet on June 22nd, and I couldn't be more excited. I've been on this journey now for about a year and a half/2 years, and powerlifting has changed my life in more ways than I can comprehend. I have been nervous about competing, but once Pull for Pride opened for registration, I knew I HAD to sign up. Pull for Pride is part of the Women's Strength Coalition, and they are all about empowering and supporting women, gender non-conforming individuals, and the LGBTQ community to uplift one another. "In accordance with our mission of using our collective strength to benefit the world in a meaningful way, Women’s Strength Coalition’s June 2019 Pull for Pride Fundraiser will benefit select organizations that provide direct support to LGBTQ youth struggling with homelessness. Beneficiary organizations include, but are not limited to, Lost-n-Found Youth (Atlanta), Project Fierce (Chicago), Urban Peak (Denver), The Ali Forney Center (NYC), and Lambert House(Seattle)."
Pull for Pride is a deadlift only meet, and I am hoping to raise a dollar for every pound I am aiming to lift. If we can exceed this goal, then that is even better! This event combines some of my biggest passions, and I hope that you can help us make a difference. Please feel free to message me directly for more details about the charities and who/what we are.
