Brodie was an Explosive Detection K9 and honorably served for 8 years with The Federal Reserve Police. He retired in May of 2019 and was enjoying retirement until two weeks ago, when Brodie's Dad and family had the scare of a lifetime. Brodie fell and hurt himself badly. They immediately rushed him to the emergency hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken leg due to Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. His right, rear leg was amputated 2 days later to save his life.
Brodie's emergency care & surgery cost nearly $5,500.00. Brodie goes back to the veterinarian Thursday to discuss treatment options and check on his progress. He is adapting well to walking on three legs, he even tries to go to work in the morning with his Dad!
Brodie may have lost a leg but he didn't lose his spirit.
