At 6 years old, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At that point, my amazing team of doctors and nurses told me that they hoped for a cure in 10 years. Naturally, I calculated where I would be in 10 years, and looked forward to the day I turned 16 because it meant I wouldn't have diabetes anymore. Unfortunately, more than 18 years after my diagnosis, there is still no cure. That being said, the T1D community has made unbelievable strides in healthcare and the way the disease is managed. Every day, we continue improving the way people live with T1D -- but we need your help!
