My name is Justin Jensen, I am 34 years old. 4 years ago I decided to quit smoking because I made a promise to my daughter, and to myself, that I would do everything in my power to be as healthy as I could, so I could be around for her as long as possible. On my quit day, I jokingly told everyone that I would soon start training for a marathon. This past May I ran my first 1/2 marathon and decided even though I did not attain my time goal of under 2hrs, I would kick my running up a notch and try an even tougher task. This September I will run the Sioux Falls 1/2 marathon, shortly after completing (about an hour later) I will run the Sanford Miracle 5K. Doing this will represent the tough times the children and families go through while at a hospital and also show a ”never give up during the hard times attitude”. This will be one of the most challenging things I have physically done by choice. All money donated will go to the Sanford Health Foundation, not me.
