As you all know, I've been a member of the New York Junior League for 10 years. I've also been running for about the same amount of time.
This year I'm combining my two favorite things -- running and the New York Junior League -- on the NYJL's team for the New York City Marathon. I've done all kinds of races -- from 5Ks to half marathons -- but never a full marathon. Funny, that.
The NYJL isn't just a place for fantastic parties. (Although they are great!) It's actually a volunteer organization that works directly with New York City communities.
Team NYJL runners help raise funds for the committees that advocate for New York City's underserved, provide at-risk adults with tools for success, mentor young girls, provide nutrition and wellness education, and engage senior citizens, among many other things.
