Thank you for taking the time to click through to my page - below is a little bit more about me and why I'm tackling the New York City Marathon on behalf of the New York Junior League (NYJL)!
Since I was a little girl it's always been a dream of mine to run through the streets of New York City on Marathon Sunday - and this year I'm grateful to be chasing that dream with Coach Rebeka Stowe and Team NYJL - the New York Junior League's Marathon Team.
Having grown up in NYC, Marathon Sunday has always been such a fun day for me - from cheering on family (my mom! & one of my main inspirations for pursuing this dream) & friends, to watching complete strangers become friends as they take on 26.2 together - that first Sunday in November is always inspiring and humbling, leaving behind an undercurrent of optimism and hope that lingers for weeks in the streets of NYC.
Now as a member of the NYJL, I am grateful to be able to chase my dreams as one of those runners this Marathon Sunday (11.3.19) - on behalf of an organization that I've immersed myself in over the past 8 years to help impact the lives of women, children & families in the communities we all call home.
During my 8 years at the NYJL I have taken on a number of roles in various areas of the league ranging from fundraising to membership, but I am particularly grateful for my current role on Management Council as Fundraising Events Council Head as this will be my second year overseeing the newly created Marathon Committee and helping build the NYJL's Marathon Team, which makes running the Marathon with Team NYJL even more exciting.
This journey is way harder than I thought it would be - special thank you to my teammates, Coach Rebeka & PT Blake for inspiring me each and every day & keeping me sane and healthy <3
Thank you for taking the time to read a bit more about my journey and I hope that you will consider making a donation toward my $3,500 fundraising goal in support of the New York Junior League's mission to strengthen the health and well-being of the children and families of the greater New York City area. Any donation is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
Here is a bit more about the New York Junior League, along with a link to our website:
