Hi friends & family!
This year I'm joining team NYJL to run the New York City Marathon! Being surrounded by people who are passionate about the sport on a daily basis got me into running in recent years - and I have them to thank for wanting to push myself harder every day.
I also have my sister, Annie, to thank the most for pushing me to do this, as she is a member of the New York Junior League, and told me about the opportunity to raise money for projects and charitable activities that the Junior League is working towards.
These are a few of the many reasons why I wanted to go on this journey to train for my first marathon, in my home city of New York!

The New York Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership. A group of dedicated volunteers and supporters will run the TCS New York City Marathon in support of the charitable activities of the New York Junior League. Team NYJL has a collective fundraising goal of $60,000, and every dollar raised will support the organization’s mission of improving the lives of women and children in our community.
We have more than 2,800 volunteers - of all races, religions, and ethnicities - who donate more than 250,000 hours of service in the NYC community every year. We train volunteers to develop skills for community work, to serve on boards, and to be leaders. Team NYJL runners help us raise funds to advocate for the underserved, provide at-risk adults with tools for success, mentor young girls, provide nutrition and wellness education, and engage senior citizens.
