What is Jumpstart?
Jumpstart is a national early education organization aimed at creating equal access to early learning opportunities for all children. Jumpstart's trained corps of college students and community volunteers support pre-school aged children in low-income neighborhoods across the country. Children who start kindergarten behind their peers tend to stay behind and never catch up. Jumpstart's curriculum helps children develop the language and literacy skills they need to be ready for school, setting them on a path for lifelong successThis year, in Massachusetts alone, over 800 Jumpstart Corps members will give over 190,000 hours of service to 2,100 children, building the vital language and literacy skills children need to thrive academically.
