Hello Brothers -
In 2006-2008, the Delta Mu shelter underwent a major remodel. At that time, bother John Roshalt lead the fundraising effort to allow for that remodel to be performed. At that time, we had approximately $1.6M in commitments but only about $1.2M was collected. The construction costs were approximately $2.2M. As a result, we secured a $900K mortgage to cover the remaining expenses. Today, our mortgage debt is down to $710K.
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting us all, including the ability for Beta Chi to cover the $7500/month mortgage payments.
We rely on having 50+ men in the house paying rent to cover our expenses. Due to the pandemic, we will only be able to have about half capacity in the house. (And that assumes the University does not have to return to an all remote learning model.)
The board has been concerned about the amount of mortgage debt we have been carrying on the house for a while now and Covid-19 has intensified our concerns.
We want and need to retire this mortgage debt and WE NEED YOUR HELP.
The Beta Chi board members have committed over $19K to date. This is a start, but not nearly enough.
We are asking all Delta Mu alumni to donate to this fundraiser today. Our goal is to raise enough money to retire all of our mortgage debt.
Note: When you donate, the GoFundMe site has their own "tip" option. This "tip" goes to the GoFundMe site, not Beta Chi. This "tip" is purely optional, but it defaults with an amount. You can use the dropdown to select the "custom" option and are able to leave it blank or enter $0.00.
