Julie "Jules" Elise Reid passed away January 9, 2019. She left behind her two beloved cats, Queen Magenta and Columbia, who were littermates. She had originally fostered their whole litter in 2012 through the Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic (FCCRSNC). She was one of the awesome fosters with whom they were happy to place cats and kittens! Jules fell in love with Magenta and Columbia and adopted them herself. The cats are back in the care of FCCRSNC following Jules' death. They are presently at another amazing foster home awaiting dental cleanings. They are the two orange ones in the photos. The other cat whom Jules is holding in the photo was Logan Gray who passed away in 2017 at the age pf 17+ years. This fund will support Jules' two cats and the shelter now caring for them.
Jules led an extraordinary life as she did everything with heart! Whether it was playing ball, marching for equality, caring for disabled adults, nurturing injured wildlife, doing technical writing, dressing up for an event, or fostering kittens, she brought her whole self into it. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, niece and auntie! She was a loyal friend who knew how to listen. I'm assuming if you found this site, it is because you knew Jules. So then, you know what an amazing, loving, creative person she was! She blessed so many of our lives as well as that of so many animals. All of earth's creatures are looking back at us through their eyes, and when looking into Jules eyes, it would be with love and gratitude.
With the blessing of Jules' two older brothers Phillip and Michael (her beloved younger brother David predeceased her), I have set up this memorial fund in Jules' memory. Monies donated here will go toward the care of Jules' cats Magenta and Columbia and of other cats in the shelter part of FCCRSNC. This is one way to honor the memory of our beloved friend who gave so much while she walked this earth with us.
I will post updates about the status of Magenta and Columbia. They are marked as a bonded pair and will only be adopted out together.
