Here is just a little video describing Jordan and Levi, why they want to be parents, how difficult the process is, and why they need your help to raise money for their journey. The last snip is a recreation of their wedding dance HA, enjoy!:)
Levi and Jordan met over 6 years ago and are happily married for over a year. Their adorable nieces and nephews want some Lawry-Shefchik cousins! This is now the third attempt at starting their family, so, more than ever, this financial support is critical to its success. The first two attempts were unsuccessful during clinical discussions and so here they are; two extremely eager intended fathers, emotionally driven to become parents and in need of your financial support to make that dream come true. Levi and Jordan are now working with a lovely Gestational Carrier and Egg Donor, each of which are local to their clinic. With agency estimates of close to $200,000 for a “live birth” package, Jordan and Levi decided to take it upon themselves to plan and coordinate the entire process which they have estimated at $100,000 since insurance will not cover this process. This assistance would allow them to complete that goal with using the money they do have to pay for the egg donation, the ICSI operation, egg/embryo freezing, embryo transfer, attorney fees etc.
Journey to Parenthood, a non-profit (Status 501(c)(3)) organization, (https://journeytoparenthood.org/) is participating in a fundraising (virtual) event between August 15 and August 30. The event is a 7-mile virtual race (https://falmouthroadrace.com/numbers-for-nonprofits/). JTP helps couples struggling with infertility from all over the US. They will be featuring a same-sex couple from Wisconsin & Ohio this year - hmmm who could that be...:)
How it works: the organization has a group of runners who each pledge to raise at least $500 which will be provided as grants to those couples selected. Jordan & Levi are participants in the race! Yes you can compete from ANYWHERE! Please reach out if you also want to participate:)
Be safe and well!
