Back in 2014, not long after Cal's diagnosis, we learned of another family struggling with the news that their child also had MLD. But this family, led by a single mother who was a migrant farm worker named Priscilla, did not have a way to care for a child with Josue's complex needs. The story garnered national attention and our friends at Angel View were able to repair a donated care so Josue could see his doctors and the family was temporarily moved so their trailer could be refurbished to accommodate the medical equipment and supplies they needed to care for Josue. The non-profit Angel View had never taken on a project on the scale needed to help Josue and his family, but they found a way to give Josue love and comfort even. after this terrible diagnosis.
Our foundation would send gift cards and clothing for Josue and his family to help Priscilla over the years.
We heard yesterday that Josue died, and the one last thing Josue and his family need help with will be the money to cover the final arrangements for the funeral.
We hope you will spread the word of this campaign to friends and family.
There is nothing worse than losing the child, and any way we can help Josue's mom Priscilla and her other children during this terrible time will offer some relief to this family and all of us who were touched by this beautiful boy's story.
We want to thank everyone whose support over the years has made it possible to play a small role in helping families.
