CUFFERS AND CUFFERS RUN BOSTON SOPHIE JUMPS OUT OF A PLANE!
Hello guys and girls, Thank you for visiting my page. I am running the 2019 Boston marathon for the Joslin Diabetes Center. As you’ll know if you’ve sponsored me before or ever listened to me waffle on about running then you’ll know that I have set myself the target of completing the world marathon majors. I have so far completed, the London, Berlin, Tokyo, Chicago and New York marathons which just leaves Boston. I have set myself this target as a type 1 diabetic to prove and hopefully inspire diabetics that anything is possible, your dream can be a reality and that #werundiabetes! As I’m not a quick runner (sub 3 hours) my only way into Boston was via a charity. Obviously I have chosen the Joslin Diabetes Center who strive to provide care and research into a life without diabetes. I hope to raise funds for them to hell please them continue there fantastic work whilst helping diabetics who struggle wih this life threatening disease! I hope you can spare any money to help me raise my target ammount. There will be lots of fundraising activities and events for you to get involved in including a quiz night, curry night, prize draws, virtual run and a very special 10K! Obviously I would love you to support these events but cold hard cash is also more than welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read my page!
Lynn’s reason to run!
Last year, I relied on a crutch to walk around but after a year of improvement, I am getting off the couch and planning to run a 5k.
But not any normal 5k, this will be in Boston, USA, as I look to support my amazing son, Thomas, in his goal to complete six of the largest marathons in the world - Tokyo, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York are all completed. He just needs to complete Boston to become a Six Star finisher.
Did you know more people have climbed Everest than completed all six marathons? What makes his achievement all the more amazing is that Thomas has type 1 diabetes but this has never stopped him in striving to achieve his dreams. For this final marathon, we all want to help Thomas raise as much money for diabetes research and to help people with diabetes.
So I have purchased new trainers, started training and will taking part in my first race since school days. Please do sponsor me so we can all help people with diabetes as Tom says "we run diabetes, diabetes doesn't run us".
Sophie‘s reason to jump!
Please sponsor my Skydive with ukskydiving.com - 100% goes to the charity!
I’ve always wanted to do a skydive but I’ve never really had a reason to risk my life haha but now I do! Tom continues to inspire me by chasing his dreams and raising awareness of diabetes and proving that it doesn‘t have to hold you back. I hope by raising vital funds for this charity, we can help to fund research and maybe even find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Thank you in advance for your donation and support
