I am the proud mother of my son, Campbell and in 2013 we were dealt with a devastating diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes. At the tender age of 15 months Cam had to begin his life as an innocent child that now would forever include injections, finger pricks, medical injections, quarterly check ups...basically a lifetime of nonstop medical concern and care. But, do not feel sorry for him because no child has embraced his diagnosis with resilience and determination like Cam. Cam rarely complains and if he does, it is truly warranted because he is a warrior through and through. He is 7.5 years old and has inspired me at the age of 40 to run on his behalf 26.1 miles in the 2019 Boston Marathon. Every mile I train will be for him! I vow to do the hard part of training but I am asking everyone near and far to help me raise $7500 for Team Joslin to support their efforts in finding a cure. A cure for Cam who can have the possibility of no longer having to live with an "artificial pancreas" but live care free.
