The goal of the Joshua Jacks Centre is to help people, from all walks of life, recover from their dependence on drugs or alcohol and to move forward towards healthier happier lives.
On behalf of the Mennie family,
"Joshua Jacks Mennie was a wonderful guy, who happened to suffer from a substance use disorder for 14 years. During this period, he and his family attempted to get appropiate help several times. He passed away December 19, 2016 at the age of 30 years old, five days after finishing a 20 day in house treatment program. Had we only known that the most dangerous time of someone's route to sobriety is right after they leave treatment. Lack of continuity of care and of detox and transitional housing services in the Westman Region significantly decreased the chance that he would recover. We are hopeful that the Joshua Jacks Centre is the change that will save many individuals and families the heart ache our has had to suffer. Bringing awareness and the need to start communicating about mental well being and addictions is the reason we opened the door to our hearts, and let you peak inside. We need to know that because Josh died...someone out there listened...and because of that...someone will live."
