Happy Holidays, Everyone
As some of you know (or are finding out as you read this) I start every New Year by jumping into the ocean. It’s always provided me with this sense of renewal and a fresh start...and if there’s one year to chase that feeling, you better believe it’s 2020.
Being the opportunist that I am, I’ve always thought that others should benefit from my insanity and therefore over the years I’ve helped raise money for some amazing charities: Camp Sunshine, Dana Farber, and Hope Floats to name a few. This year I’ve chosen DOVE to raise money for...and thankfully I’m not alone in my endeavors. My dad, Stu Teller has bravely volunteered to take the plunge with me on January 1st!
Normally this would take place in Boston with the L Street Brownies, but due to Covid restrictions and our own concerns we will be doing it locally at White Horse Beach.
DOVE is a wonderful, inclusive organization based in Quincy, MA that helps survivors of domestic violence and their families. Their mission statement is: “DOVE is committed to partnering with diverse communities, families, and individuals impacted by domestic violence or partner violence. We promote hope, healing, safety, and social change by providing a broad range of preventive and responsive services.”
2020 has been hard for everybody for numerous reasons, but organizations like DOVE do not get to take a year off or suspend their operations because of COVID. In fact it’s the opposite, they have been working harder than ever this year providing services, shelter, and hope for the families they support. Please consider donating and sharing to help this wonderful and worthwhile organization.
