For the last 5 years, I've been battling Anxiety and Depression. My own struggles have pushed me to pursue a career in mental health. I struggled with insecurities and past emotional trauma due to my shame and fear of admitting what I have. I've used physical fitness and training to help me battle my anxiety. I lost 50 lbs; and in turn gained a fire and level of determination I've never had before. Running became a passion and a great metaphor for my story. Keep Going. Even when you're tired, even when you're hurting, you dig and keep moving. Losing weight and getting in shape was for me, now I want to help others in any way I can. I want to run my first marathon and dedicate it to those who have struggled with Mental Illness and their loved ones. I also want to run for the loved ones who have lost someone due to mental illnesss. I want to be an example of resiliency and strength when your own mind is trying to fight itself. I hope you support me and my mission to help people.
