Pedal, paddle, walk, or run – help us get our classrooms done! Support Gbarnga Mission as we expand our school in Liberia.
Did you know that about 2/3 of Liberian children don’t attend school? Children make up half the population of Liberia but only one-third are enrolled in school. The country is still recovering from 14-years of civil war that destroyed many schools and killed hundreds of thousands of people. In the 5th poorest country in the world, many families in Liberia can’t afford to pay for tuition or school supplies.
How does movin’ help education in Liberia? Gbarnga Mission’s Christian school in Liberia is on the move with a growing enrollment and we need more room to teach even more students. We’re constructing classrooms and a cafeteria to expand our capacity through 8th grade. When you get movin’ with us, we’ll reach our goal together! Find out more at our website www.gbarngamission.org
So, let’s get movin’ for education in Liberia!
Step 1: Decide how you’ll get movin’ How are you going to get movin’ with us? It doesn’t matter if you walk, hike, run, pedal, paddle or swim.
Step 2: Set your goal Education challenges our students to learn, achieve, and stretch their capabilities. We encourage you to pick a challenging, but achievable, goal for yourself – will you walk or run 5 miles, paddle 10 miles, or pedal 20 miles?
Step 3: Set up your personal page On “Go Fund Me Charity” you can set up your own fundraising page linked to Gbarnga Mission’s page here. Share photos of you, your story, and why you chose to join us as we’re movin’ for education in Liberia.
Step 4: Get the word out! Every participant is committed to raising at least $250 for building our classrooms (but feel free to raise more if you want!). Reach out to the people you know to support you. You can get 10 people to give $10, 4 people to give $25, 2 to for $50, or any combination in between.
Step 5: Get Movin’ Get out there the weekend of October 3rd and hit your goals (while physical distancing, of course)! Post photos of you or your team on Instagram @gbarngamission or #movinforeducation. We can't wait to see how you got movin'.
