12 years ago, I went for an ambulance ride (full lights & sirens) after being sent to the local ER by my primary doctor. Not a heart attack but A-fib. Having lost family members to heart disease I figured my time would come but God has other plans for me. So, what is A-fib? Atrial fibrillation is a quivering or irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. At least 2.7 million Americans are living with A-fib. After several cardioversions and a cryo-ablation which was successful for while my heart just appears to want to beat to its own drummer. My cardiologist and I decided that we will just learn to live with it. And that’s what I’m doing, Living MY Best Life.
I've been on a long journey to improve my overall health and I have lost over 150lbs since that day in 2009. A huge art was just getting moving. And that’s what I will be doing next weekend, July 24th and 25th, with the Ironheart Foundation Step It Up Challenge. I will be walking, jogging, cycling, or whatever it takes to move at least 20-minutes every hour of the weekend. Yes, 48 hours moving 20 minutes an hour. I hope you will consider to support me in this challenge. You can make a donation per total hours I’m able to complete the 20 minutes or give a set amount. Please know that no amount is too small. Every bit will help the Ironheart Foundation in its Mission to Fight Heart Disease! By using physical movement and sport to transform, empower and positively impact lives that have been affected by heart disease.
Blessings to you all,
