For this race I have chosen to ask for donations for the American Lung Association (ALA). ALA support people with lung disease who have to fight for every breath.
In October of 2012, my mother, Barbara Tullio, was in a car accident. Following a routine chest xray the doctors saw something that led to many additional tests leading to a diagnosis of lung cancer, stage 3B. She was advised to go home and get affairs in order. Instead, fought for 7 more years to be with her husband, children and grandchildren. Sadly, on October 13, 2019 Barbara passed away, surrounded by the love and presence of family and friends. Barbara was an active volunteer and fundraiser for the American Lung Association and participated as a guest bartender when the local ALA began the Kickoff event in 2018.
I am continuing to honor my mother’s legacy by helping to raise awareness and funds for research of this disease.
We're coming together for a healthier future, for clean air and for vital COVID-19 research. Every donation takes us one step closer to a world free of lung disease. To support, please donate now! Every day, every minute and every second counts.
