The Varsity and JV Joel Barlow Girls Lacrosse teams are hosting Play For Pink. On May 11, both teams will be playing at Joel Barlow Stadium in support of Leukemia. The Varsity plays at 1 and JV at 3 p.m. Leukemia is one type of cancer which has a high rate of being able to be cured. Our girls have chosen to raise money to help even more research in order to continue aiding those who have Leukemia. With diagnosing symptoms early, this type of cancer can be cured. Early symptoms include: persistent fever over an extended period of time, easy bruising and/or patches of red dots cover an area of your body, easy and unexpected bleeding , chronic infections both viral and bacterial, trouble breathing if the cancer cells have grown in the throat area, and persistent joint pain over time. Each year our girls have chosen to help raise money for different types of Cancer. It is a great achievement for them. All donations go directly to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
