Running the Boston Marathon for Team JAF ... so many reasons, so little space! I am honored to be a part of JAF as a staff member, volunteer, supporter and Team JAF alumni, and now a 2019 Team JAF member! I run this year to honor the 1,814 patients that we supported in 2018, and the over 9,500 patients we have supported to date. I run with a heavy heart for the loss of my Dad in 2018, who suffered from lung cancer and COPD. I run for the many survivors in my family and friend circle, those who continue their fight, the amazing patient recipients I have had the honor to meet and those who have stood with me to volunteer at events and come to the office to help raise money to pay it forward, the patients who fought hard but succumbed to cancer. Every day we work to support patients and their families to assist with their household bills, enabling patients and their caregivers to focus on what matters most: getting better. Financial toxicity is a monster for so many people in their cancer battle - and the need continues to grow. So, I run.
Thank you for your support and for helping those in need. There are not enough words to express my gratitude, so I will express my thanks with my feet!
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is committed to providing help, hope, and a reason to smile, for New England cancer patients and their families by contributing financial support when it is needed most.
