Jeremy and I threw around a few different ideas for registries; Honeymoon fund! Newlywed fund! Pay for Jeremy’s deer lease fund! However, none of them felt quite right so we were having some trouble. Oddly enough, we both had separately stumbled across a way to do a charity fund for our registry. I knew as soon as I saw that as an option, that it felt like the perfect way to have our friends and family help with an important cause. We researched a number of different organizations and charities. We both lost parents to cancer, so we felt drawn to that type of fund. But, we also have kids, so children are super important. And we didn’t want to give to an organization where the money goes to salaries and overhead. We found our answer through Evie’s 5th grade teacher. Her daughter is in remission from cancer and when I reached out, she suggested St. Baldrick's as the donations truly go to research and helping kids who are battling cancer. Only 4% of US Federal funding is dedicated to childhood cancer research. THANK YOU for helping us with this important cause!! Curing childhood cancer is the equivalent of curing breast cancer in terms of productive life years saved. –Dr. Eugenie Kleinerman,
