At the average height of about four to five feet tall, sparkling eyes and grins stretching ear to ear greeted me daily. Yet picking up the kids for our summer programs used to seem like an inconvenient hassle to me. Within the transportation route, there were so many logistics, routes, and the timing never seemed to work out.
AND THEN... Then God opened my eyes to the beauty of being a part of the transportation route, and I grew to LOVE this part of the day. I get to greet these sweet children and remind them that they're so important and valued, and we're excited to be with them for part of their day. I get to see and appreciate where they come from and listen as they all talk over each other to tell me something so exciting about their lives...maybe it's what they had for breakfast, or a cat they saw, or an adventure they had. And yes it is overwhelming at times, but in the depth of it all I KNOW that these moments are divine, part of the everyday divine, they are a gift. A gift to share life together, belong at the same summer program, and know we're a part of something bigger than ourselves. This summer we get to continue embracing the Everyday Divine, greeting those excited faces, ready to adventure together!
