Well, here we are again! Take two!
I'm here to serve - in love, connection, community, and good health. What I learned about The Run Across Haiti last year, is that the experience of this run allows me to combine all of these things. By serving our families in Menelas through fundraising, spreading awareness about job creation, and sacrificing a little personal pain to run 200+ miles across beautiful terrain, I can be a first-hand witness to the positive change that's happening in one of the world's poorest cities.
At Work, we strive to create dignified job opportunities for our Haitian families. We provide job opportunity and placement, healthcare, and schooling for the families we serve. The 2018 Run Across Haiti had a profound impact on the way I challenge my mind, body, and humanity, and I cannot wait to return with old friends, and new.
Since 2015, the Run Across Haiti has broadened perspectives around the world as a place to be explored and celebrated. Through the efforts of runners and crew, it has also generated over $700,000 to support our work to end poverty through dignified jobs. We're proud to have Work family members on the staff of the Run, leading the charge as we welcome more ultra runners and supporters to Haiti. As an economic contributor, the Run provided 245 work days and contributed $90,736 to the local tourism industry in 2018.
If you are here, I hope you consider supporting my efforts in the 2019 Run Across Haiti by donating any amount, large or small, or by sharing my page with your own network to help me do my duty as a charity runner of spreading awareness about the good people and great things they are doing in Haiti.
