We have all been touched by cancer in some way. Rarely a day goes by that I don’t think about a loved one who is a survivor or pray for someone that is currently fighting or mourn for someone that I have lost. As many of you know, I lost my mom to a blood cancer over 18 years ago.
Three years ago, I started participating in an amazing event that helps to spread awareness and raise funds for cancer research. The event is a 200 mile running relay consisting of myself and 11 other runners committed to the cause. Last year the group raised over $70,000 for the American Cancer Society! This year we are participating in the Ragnar Relay Minnesota in August.
Please don’t feel any pressure to donate. For me, the participation in this event and the spreading of the message is a healthy way to remember and honor my mom while still dealing with the pain of losing her.
Thank you and live each day to the fullest!
