I live in Pearl River, NY with my husband Dan, daughters, Julia, Grace, Lily and my dog, George. I teach kindergarten in the Nanuet school district and have loved my job the for the last 19 years.
I am running the NYC Marathon for the second time. The first time I ran was one of the best days of my life. There were literally thousands of spectators and volunteers cheering us all onward. Ordinary, elite and disabled runners from all around the world, in the same race, running side by side. And with my name written in black sharpie on my shirt, I often heard, “You got this Jenny!” Or “You’re amazing, Jenny” from smiling strangers. Humanity at its best.
And now I have a chance to run this race a second time, this time running for a cause. The With Arms Wide Open Organization will help families in the NYPD and their children with special needs. Helping families care for and support their children, giving them a chance at living their best life is something I want to be part of. I am grateful to have the opportunity to run again and honored to have been given the chance to help this organization. Please click this link below to find out more about the organization.
