I'll be running the Vermont City Marathon on May 26th with some *amazing* former medical students who continually inspire me with their dedication to their patients, their communities... and to running! Some of these former students are residents at UVM and pointed me to Never Give Up Ever Fund, a vital resource for families of children admitted to UVM's Children's Hospital, which serves children from Vermont and Upstate NY.
This fund provides financial assistance to families experiencing financial hardship related to having a child with a chronic illness, terminal illness, or life-altering event that requires long term medical care at VT Children’s Hospital. Support for these families may include, but is not limited to; gas cards, meal cards, money for lodging, and inevitable related expenses due to the loss of wages and overwhelming medical bills during inpatient hospitalizations and outpatient appointments.
If you donate to this campaign, THANK YOU, and please also make a SONG SUGGESTION that I can include on my marathon playlist, so I can think of you and your amazing support while I play your song to try to get me through those 26.2 miles!
The photo above is me with UVM Pediatrics Resident Dr. Kate Ostrander, from the Maine Marathon (half!) we did back in 2015. I am so excited to see her and run with her again, and I love that I can do it while supporting a cause that's so important to her patients. Thank you in advance!
