Hello friends, strangers, generous donors! Welcome to my fundraiser for the 2019 Boston Marathon. Here is a little about me and the charity I will represent during the marathon, Jeff’s Place.
Why I run: As a kid I rode my bike every day, and it benefitted me physically and mentally. But, after high school, I became sedentary. Worse still I ate recklessly since I knew nothing about nutrition. I gained weight —lots of weight —and lost the physical fitness biking had created. At age 36, 80 or so pounds overweight, I'd had enough! I started running —one painful block at a time —and completely overhauled my diet (Team Vegan 🌱 🤘🏻). Now, just over 3 years later, I'm 60 pounds lighter, eating healthier than ever, and have completed two marathons! And I'm about to run Boston for a second time! I'm blessed and very proud of what I have accomplished, and now get to use my ability to help raise money for grieving families. You may not be able to run with me, but you can certainly help the families of Jeff’s Place.
Thank you so much for donating!

Jeff's Place is excited to be a Team Framingham 2019 Boston Marathon charity!! Jeff’s Place provides comprehensive bereavement support services for both children aged 3-19 and their families. We facilitate healthy integration of loss by helping families feel connected with each other and less alone in their grief journey. Our free grief support groups provide a safe place for members of the community to heal and integrate their loss in a healthy and meaningful way. We also provide individual and family counseling along with crisis intervention and professional educational trainings on childhood bereavement for local schools and organizations. We have now served over 550 individuals from the MetroWest area and we currently have 51 families in our groups, with 56 caregivers and 86 children.
