I lost my father last year to an accelerated form of cancer. My father was a kind man, good father, and a happy grandfather. I am jumping in for a second time in dedication to him and to help assist Chistopher’s Haven which is a cancer support for families of children with cancer. The Bay Challenge (CCBC) is a long distance paddleboard event (20 miles) basically a marathon on the water. All the donations for this event go to a very worthy cause, Christopher's Haven.
Due to the COVID situation, paddlers will be teaming up to do team paddles. I will be paddling with some surfing friends and will be doing the paddle between Aug 1st and Aug 8th. This will be at a point location determined by the team instead of the normal Bourne to Duxbury paddle.
Christopher’s Haven consists of nine fully furnished apartments and a community recreation area for families of children being treated for cancer in nearby Boston hospitals. Christopher’s Haven is much more than just a place to stay, it is a support system to help with things large and small, and a community where families can be together, share a laugh, be comforted, and comfort others. Any donation would be beneficial for this cause.
