In the lead-up to my 35th birthday, I decided to spend the preceding month (i.e., 5/7-6/6) attempting to run a total of 200 miles. As someone who lives and works in the world of distance running, 200 is not that many miles to cover in this amount of time BUT, it's more than I would typically run in a one-month period and it has been challenging.
This began as a personal challenge to keep myself moving (and to take advantage of a little extra time afforded by WFH); however, I have decided to use this as an opportunity to do some good...
During this time of crisis, I have felt extremely fortunate with regard to my current situation in terms of both resources and support; at the same time, I have felt extremely limited in my ability to give back, so:
For each mile completed in this challenge, I am asking folks to pledge .10--for a total of $20--in support of Feeding America. These funds will help provide food for people in need during this pandemic and beyond. If you are in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to this worthy cause.
Completed: 205 miles in 31 days
