Three years ago, I had ridiculously long hair that needed cutting. Hoping to make the world a better place in more than one way (my hair was painful to look at), I decided to create a fundraiser so friends and family could emphasize how much they wanted me to cut my hair while also donating to a good cause. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $425 to support cancer patients.
Now that I've graduated college and matured as a person, we're right back where we started. This time, it's my beard.
I've been growing this tendrilous monster for five months, and it is time to slay the dragon. Here are some of the most inspiring comments I've received about it:
"I refuse to look at you until you shave that disgusting thing."
"Why is it so red? You have brown hair!"
"You will actually give your grandmother a heart attack if she sees you like that. Please, please shave it."
"There's bread crumbs in it. When was the last time you ate bread?"
So as we head into the new year, please consider donating $5 or $10 to this silly, but just, cause. Whether looking for a way to help the world or just to get me to shave my beard, please give whatever you can. As with last time, all proceeds will go to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Inc. Thank you, Happy New Year, and get this thing off my face!!
