At Johnson & Johnson Vision, we are connected by a powerful purpose – to change the trajectory of eye health worldwide. That’s why every day, we work with eye care professionals to deliver cutting-edge insights, science, and technology to solve a lifetime of eye health needs. Sight is our most valued sense, yet eye care is often neglected.
In these evolving times, screens are everywhere and are a major part of our lives, even for the youngest in our families. Prioritizing our eyes has never been more important. This year, Johnson & Johnson Vision is proud to continue its support to Himalayan Cataract Project, as we celebrate Cataract Awareness Month in June and World Sight Day in October to raise awareness of the importance of vision and global issues of eye health.
The Himalayan Cataract Project is a non-profit organisation with the mission to cure needless blindness with the highest quality care at the lowest cost. Himalayan Cataract Project works to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in some of the hardest-to-reach locations by increasing access to affordable, high-quality eye care. Since 1995, the organisation has screened and treated more than 13 million people and performed more than 1,015,000 surgeries in 20 countries. Johnson & Johnson Vision is a proud partner in this endeavour.
Needless and preventable blindness is one public health problem we can help solve. It takes as little as US$25 to help one underserved patient who has cataract get the surgery they need to restore sight. For every dollar donated from now till 15 November 2021, Johnson & Johnson Vision and Global Community Impact will match employee donations 1:1, up to a total of US$5,000. You can play an important role in helping us live up to our purpose.
