WHY WE RUN & WALK:
Jim Malaney was a beloved member of the UConn Pharmacy Class of 2010. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and will always be remembered for his optimism and kind heart. He received his Bachelors of Science in 2008, graduating in the top of his class as a member of the Rho Chi Honor Society. Jim was to receive his Doctorate in Pharmacology in May 2010, but passed away in January of that year. In addition to his intellectual achievements, he gave back to his community through work with the Veterans at the VA Hospital and children at the pediatric psychiatry unit at Yale New Haven Hospital. To remember and celebrate Jim's impact here at the School of Pharmacy, the James T. Malaney Rho Chi Scholarship was established in his honor. This scholarship is given to a member of the Rho Chi Honor Society who has shown dedication to their school work and the advancement of pharmacy during their time as a professional student.
