On July 28th, I will be participating in my 10th Cape Cod Bay Challenge. I'll be paddling 22 miles in one day from Hull, MA to Duxbury, MA, on a stand-up paddleboard. It will be a grueling effort, but all for a good cause. All proceeds of the 2018 Cape Cod Bay Challenge will benefit Christopher’s Haven, a non-profit dedicated to providing kids and their families a place to stay while they are undergoing cancer treatment at Mass General Hospital (http://www.christophershaven.org). Kids from around the world come the MGH for treatment, but insurance doesn't cover living expenses for their 6-8 week stay. Christopher’s Haven offers a home for kids when cancer hits home.
While most of us have been touched by cancer in some way through family or friends who've been afflicted, a child with cancer is especially heart-wrenching. I count myself lucky to have the chance to go for a 22 mile paddle, so I'll be paddling for those who can't. Last year we raised $85,000 and this year we hope to blow that number away. I'm hoping you can help out. Every donation counts - even $25 will make a difference. For more info on the race, check out the website at www.capecodbaychallenge.org
