My love of Jams grew out of a shared experience with my mother. Picking fresh peaches in an orchard surrounded by trees heavily laden with fruit , while smelling the sweet aroma of those beautiful peaches, was an ethereal experience for me! The pure pleasure of biting into a fresh picked juicy sweet peach is something everyone should experience!
Once we had our weight in peaches and got our loot back to the house, the jamming would commence. Cooking sweet, tasty jam and filling jars with that liquid gold, made for beautiful, delicious, and personal Christmas gifts.
My daughter, Laura, joined us one summer and is now a jammer like her mom and grandmother. They are shown in the image above laughing about mom loosing count of "cups of sugar" added!
This same daughter was the first person to make me aware of the horrific epidemic of human trafficking. Seems some things get written on our hearts and once you know that you know, well, you get the picture.
November 6th and 7th I am participating in a fall festival at Brookhill Ranch in Hot Springs, AR. All proceeds from my "Tam's Jam's" will go to support Tim Tebow's Foundation to iradicate human trafficking during our lifetime.
I would love to see you at the ranch, but if you can not make it by, I hope you will consider on online donation.
